SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos lead the national leaderboards in multiple events after their performance at the Mangrum Invite hosted by Cal State San Marcos Friday.
The Broncos 4x100 relay team of
Jaelyn Thomas,
Kelsey Ehinlaiye,
Yuna Queniat, and
Ayana Fields placed second at the event making the provisional mark with a time of 45.72 and now lead the NCAA Div. II performance list in first place.
The 4x400 team of Thomas, Queniat,
Arissa Hatcher, and Fields placed second in San Marcos making the provisional mark with at time of 3:49.12.
Fields won the 400 meter event with a time of 54.37 for a second place national ranking. Fields now holds first place in the 200 meter, second place in the 400 meter, first place in the 4x100, and first place in the 4x400 relay.
In the 800 meter event,
Arissa Hatcher placed third with a time of 2:14.79 for a ninth place national ranking.
Paige Moore finished ninth in the 5000 meter event, crossing the line at 18:50.74 for a new personal best.
Ari Milton placed third in the 100 meter hurdles, sealing a time of 14.30 and is now ranked sixth nationally, while
Keiana Hamm cleared 1.55m (5' 1") in the high jump for a fourth place event finish.
Keiana Turner led the throwers squad with a first place finish in the hammer throw (49.99m), second place in the shot put (12.38m), and fourth place in the discus (37.62m). Teammate
Shona Christensen was right behind Turner, placing third in the shot put with a throw of 11.83m.
The Broncos next meets are at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, the West Coast Relays, and Vince O'Boyle Classic held the March 30
th-April 1
st.
