CCAA RELEASE

POMONA -- Jade De Souza of Cal Poly Pomona has been selected as the CCAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week, for the week of April 24-30.

In her first outdoor track appearance this season, De Souza won the triple jump at the Steve Scott Invitational at UC Irvine. She leapt 12.65 meters (41 feet, six inches) to set a new Broncos program record. 

The senior from Saint-Genis-Pouilly, France, is now atop of the performance list in the CCAA in the event. De Souza ranks No. 5 in NCAA Division II.

De Souza was second in the triple jump at the CCAA Championships last year and came in third at the NCAA Championships.

Cal Poly Pomona joins the rest of the conference at the conference championship meet, which begins on Thursday at Cal State San Marcos.
