POMONA - Ninety-four Cal Poly Pomona student-athletes were named Thursday among a total of 929 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Academic Award recipients for 2022-23.

Cal Poly Pomona ranked fourth among the 12 CCAA member-schools in honorees, behind only Cal State San Marcos (120), Chico State (99) and San Francisco State (97). The final number of 929 falls just shy of the 935 from 2021-22. The awards began back in 2005-06.

The 94 Broncos mark the program's second-most CCAA All-Academic selections, four more than last year's 90, but still short of the record 110 from 2020-21, when there was no athletic participation requirement due to the COVID-19 pandemic wiping everything out entirely. For a team breakdown, the CPP men's soccer squad led the way with 18 awardees, followed in double digits by women's soccer and men's track and field with 15 each, and women's track and field and volleyball with 13 apiece.

Allyssa Larkin, a fifth-year senior soccer forward out of Las Vegas, Nev., is Cal Poly Pomona's lone five-time CCAA All-Academic honoree. There are a trio of four-timers in sprinter Joshua Johnson, pole vaulter Skyy Vang and volleyball middle blocker Kaitlan Tucker.

The main criteria for the awards is being a varsity letter-winning student-athlete in one of the 13 CCAA-sponsored sports who has maintained a minimum grade-point average of 3.40 for the 2022-23 academic year. At least 24 semester units needed to be completed at the certifying institution. Redshirts and graduate students are not eligible.

Bronco student-athletes who earned CCAA All-Academic recognition for 2021-22 are denoted below with a (#), while 2020-21 honorees are noted with a (%), 2019-20 with a (&), and 2018-19 with a (!).
