RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Both
Ryan Fields (110H) and
Deandre Smith (Long Jump) saw first place finishes in the RCC Open on Friday, while each also earned NCAA provisional marks in their respective events. In total, the Broncos had 11 Top 5 finishes, while also setting 11 personal records.
Reno Vasquez set multiple personal records in the high jump (7
thplace, 1.80m) and the long jump (12
thplace, 6.58m).
Alan Rennie also had two Top 5 finishes in the discus and hammer throw, setting a personal record in the latter.
The 4x800 relay team of
Hunter Roy,
Christian Coley,
James Guerrero, and
Vincent Sarino placed second in the race with a time of 8:00.78. Sophomore
Justin Cardoza also saw a second place finish in the long jump with a distance of 7.23 meters, a personal best.
NCAA PROVISIONAL MARKS
- Ryan Fields finished with a time of 14.01 in the 110 meter hurdles. He currently ranks second in the nation behind teammate Alessio Sommacal, who won the Beach Opener with a time of 13.99.
- Deandre Smith earned a provisional mark in the long jump with a distance of 7.37 meters. He now ranks fourth in the nation and first in the CCAA in the event.
