ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Seven Broncos earned All-CCAA honors on Tuesday night, including Caleb Reyes being named CCAA Pitcher of the Year for the second season in a row. He is the first student-athlete in over 25 years to win the award in back-to-back seasons. This is also the ninth consecutive season that Cal Poly Pomona baseball has produced at least seven all-conference honorees.

Caleb Reyes was named CCAA Pitcher of the Year and All-CCAA First Team for the second consecutive season, after posting a 2.82 ERA in 60.2 innings during the regular season. The redshirt senior struck out 48 batters while only walking 13, and holding opponents to a .224 average with a 1.02 WHIP. Heading into the final week of the season, the preseason All-American was a perfect 6-0 in his nine starts. In two seasons with the Broncos, Reyes has an impressive 2.73 ERA across 138.1 innings with a 13-4 record.

Johnny Pappas, Jack Sanders, and Rhys Stevens were also named All-CCAA First Team. Pappas leads the team with a .363 batting average and 53 runs scored on the season, with also slugging nine home runs and 10 doubles for a 1.042 OPS.  He ranks Top 10 in the CCAA in each of those categories, while leading the conference with 38 walks on the season – moving up to fifth all-time in CPP history with 99 in his career. Sanders has emerged as a significant offensive threat in the conference, leading the team with 11 home runs and a 1.072 OPS, while earning CCAA Player of the Week honors twice this season. The junior has also been red hot as of late, hitting six home runs in his last 11 games.

Stevens rounded out the First Team selections, owning a 3.09 ERA on the season with 45 strikeouts in 67.0 innings. The San Clemente native was the model of consistency for the CPP staff, throwing at least 5.0 innings with three or less earned runs in seven of his 11 starts this season, including each of his last six. The redshirt junior has a .215 opponent batting average, with a WHIP of 1.19 this season and earned CCAA Pitcher of the Week in mid-April.

Noel Soto earned All-CCAA Second Team honors, leading the team with 70.2 innings on the season and throwing three complete games. He earned CCAA Player of the Week honors twice, while owning an impressive 7-2 record in his 12 starts. Anthony Gibbons also earned second team recognition, batting .308 with an OPS of .919 while slugging eight home runs and a team-leading 16 doubles while splitting time between catcher and outfield.

Marco Malerba was named an All-CCAA Honorable Mention, batting .331 with four home runs and 12 doubles. He ranks third on the team in hits with 60, tying his season total from 2023. The first baseman also ranks third on the team in RBI with 39, while owning a .994 fielding percentage in a team-leading 361 total chances – committing just two errors. Malerba was also named CCAA Player of the Week in April.
