After a back-and-forth opening frame featuring nine lead changes and 22 ties, the Broncos closed on a 4-1 run highlighted by back-to-back kills from Walker and Ybarra to take it 29-27. Cal Poly Pomona carried that momentum into the second set, storming to an early 9-2 lead fueled by Ybarra's serving run.
