CHICO, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona women's cross country team delivered a strong performance at the 2025 CCAA Cross Country Championships on Friday morning at Hooker Oak Park, finishing third overall behind host Chico State and Stanislaus State. Senior
Vivian Martinez led the Broncos with an outstanding third-place individual finish, clocking 21:45.7 on the 6,000-meter course.
Martinez stayed with the lead pack throughout the race and crossed the line just 13 seconds behind the individual champion, Iresh Molina from Chico State, earning All-CCAA honors for the third consecutive season and continuing her standout senior campaign. Her time is also the 11
th-fastest in school history in a CCAA meet, and just the seventh time a CPP runner has ever had a podium finish at the CCAA Championships.
Junior
Alondra Arias followed as CPP's second scorer, placing 17th in 22:33.4, while
Jade Kingston (22:40.0) and
Miranda Palacios (22:43.3) packed tightly in 19th and 20th to keep the Broncos in podium contention.
Galilea Jimenez rounded out the scoring five in 26th with a time of 23:06.3, securing Cal Poly Pomona's third-place team finish with a total of 85 points.
Shelby Ortega-Hufana (23:23.2, 33rd) and
Milca Osorio (23:32.9, 39th) provided additional depth, helping the Broncos post an impressive team spread of less than two minutes from their first to seventh finisher.

Julia Butler (24:34.0, 68
th) rounded out the 10 Broncos that competed in the meet.
The third-place finish marks another strong showing for head coach
Chris Bradford's squad, who have now finished third place at the CCAA Championships in five of his eight years at the helm.

The Broncos will compete in the NCAA West Regionals on Saturday, November 8
th, in Monmouth, Oregon. The team looks to earn their first trip to the NCAA National Championships since 2019.
