Volleyball’s 2025 Season Comes to a Close

11/24/2025 5:57:00 PM

POMONA, Calif. – The Broncos did not hear their name called during the 2025 NCAA Division II Volleyball Selection Show on Monday afternoon, marking the end of their 2025 campaign. The team had hoped to receive an at-large bid into the national tournament, after failing to secure the automatic bid in the CCAA Tournament this past weekend.

The 2025 squad has a lot to be proud of, starting with winning back-to-back CCAA regular season titles – a first in program history. The Broncos nearly went undefeated in conference play (17-1), tying the program record for most CCAA wins in a season. Their 17-match winning streak from September 18th to November 13th marks the third-longest in program history, while also setting the school record for the best start to conference play.

Head coach Traci Dahl picked up CCAA Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season, as she now has a 121-45 (.729) overall record in her six seasons at the helm. The Broncos are also an incredible 34-2 in CCAA play over the past two seasons, as Dahl has the highest overall, and CCAA, winning percentage of any coach in program history.

Junior Sarah Ybarra proved to be one of the nation's elite, ranking top five nationally in both kills per set and points per set this season. The CCAA Player of the Year dominated just about every time she saw the court, highlighted by a historic 45-kill performance back on October 11th at Cal State East Bay. She was also a five-time CCAA Offensive Player of the Week, breaking the conference record for most in a season.

A plethora of young talent stepped up for the Broncos this season, most notably freshman setter Kacie Caoili and redshirt freshman Elle Walker. The two earned All-CCAA First Team honors, with Caoili being named Freshman and Setter of the Year while Walker earned Newcomer of the Year.

Caoili shined with 927 assists this season, averaging 10.53 per set. If she continues that pace for the next three years at CPP, it will put her in the top three all-time in both categories. Walker added significant depth on the Broncos' attack, adding 333 kills (3.70 per set). She also recorded a 34-kill game against Cal State East Bay on November 8th, a mark that would've broken the school record if it wasn't for Ybarra earlier in the season.

Coach Dahl and the Broncos will now turn their attention ahead to the 2026 season, where their mix of young talent and experienced senior class could put them in a strong position for a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
