Ybarra and Caoili Named All-Americans

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Cal Poly Pomona volleyball standouts Sarah Ybarra and Kacie Caoili capped an impressive 2025 season by earning All-America honors, it was announced by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Wednesday. Ybarra repeated as an All-America honoree, becoming the 10th player in program history to receive the honor in multiple seasons, while Caoili became the 17th player in program history to receive national recognition.
 
Junior outside hitter Sarah Ybarra was selected to the AVCA All-America First Team and the D2CCA All-America Second Team, adding to a long list of accolades following her dominant campaign. One of the most consistent and explosive attackers in NCAA Division II, Ybarra ranked second in the West Region with 4.83 kills per set and 5.36 points per set, while also finishing among the region's leaders in attacks per set (11.14), hitting percentage (.297), and total kills (343). Her high-efficiency production and ability to take over matches powered the Broncos throughout the season and helped her secure both CCAA Player of the Year and All-CCAA First Team honors. She also becomes just the fifth player in program history, and the first since Daisy Duke in 2022, to be named to the AVCA First Team.
 
Setter Kacie Caoili, a true freshman, earned AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, capping an outstanding debut season that established her as one of the nation's most promising newcomers. Caoili orchestrated the Broncos' offense at a remarkably high level, finishing second in the region with 10.53 assists per set and fourth in total assists with 927. Her steady leadership and playmaking ability earned her recognition as the AVCA West Region Freshman of the Year, All-West Region Honorable Mention, CCAA Setter of the Year, CCAA Freshman of the Year, and All-CCAA First Team.
 
Together, Ybarra and Caoili elevated the Broncos on the national stage, their All-America honors affirming their exceptional individual seasons and the program's continued success. The Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team has now seen 31 total All-America honors across 17 different athletes in their history, including 14 under head coach Traci Dahl.
