LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos had an outstanding performance at the Jim Bush Legends Meet and Bob Larsen Distance Carnival at UCLA this weekend, setting 15 new personal bests across multiple events.
Jessica James led the charge with a stellar performance in the 200-meter dash, capturing 1st place with a time of 24.46 seconds, which also secured her spot in the top 10 in program history. She followed up with another strong showing in the 400-meter dash, taking 2nd place with a personal best time of 54.92. This remarkable achievement not only placed her among the top 10 in program history but also earned her the NCAA Division II provisional mark, currently ranking her 5th in the nation.
Arissa Hatcher also made history by entering the top 10 in the program's history in the 800-meter event with a personal best of 2:11.78, which is currently ranked 10th in the nation.
The 5000-meter saw
Vivian Martinez and
Jade Kingston both set personal records while securing spots in the top 10 in program history.
The Broncos' relay teams also delivered impressive results. The 4x100-meter relay team consisting of
Samira Stevenson,
Ta'Ahjah Fann, James, and
Hannah Luster clocked in at 46.15 seconds, entering the top 10 in program history and achieving the NCAA provisional mark. They currently hold the 7th spot nationally.
In the 4x400-meter relay,
Trinity Moseby, Hatcher,
Jordan Garcia, and James also made their mark, setting a season best with a time of 3:47.61. Their performance earned them an NCAA provisional mark and placed them 4th in the nation.
Up next, the Broncos will be competing at the Margrum Invitational on Friday, March 28th, in San Marcos, Calif.
