LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Broncos competed at the Johnson/Joyner-Kersee Invitational hosted by UCLA, where they had a standout performance, achieving eight personal bests over the weekend.

Nnamdi Onwaeze took second place in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 13.94, which is the fourth fastest in program history. This performance also earned him an NCAA Division II provisional mark. Similarly, Alessio Sommacal set a personal best in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 50.61, marking the second fastest time in school history. He, too, secured an NCAA Division II provisional mark with his performance.

The Broncos excelled in the relays as well. The 4x100-meter relay team, consisting of Sommacal, Lorenzo Boyd, Colin Quinn, and Onwaeze, finished in first place. In the 4x400-meter relay, Camden Patterson, Leroy Crook Jr., Joshua Morinaga, and Sommacal took second place, running the sixth fastest time in program history and achieving an NCAA Division II provisional mark.

Individually, Kailen Smith claimed victory in the high jump, recording a mark of 2.00 meters. Collin Joyce also set a personal best in the triple jump with a mark of 15.33 meters, the fifth best in program history, and earned an NCAA Division II provisional mark.
