LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Broncos put on an impressive performance at the Johnson/Joyner-Kersee Invitational, hosted by UCLA, as six athletes achieved personal bests over the weekend.
Arissa Hatcher stole the spotlight with a remarkable achievement in the 800-meter race. Hatcher shattered a 19-year-old school record with a time of 2:08.80. Reflecting on her accomplishment, Hatcher shared, "After crossing the finish line, I was completely speechless. Hitting a PR and breaking a 19-year-old school record! I'm excited for my next race and will continue to push myself throughout the season to give my best performance, for myself and the team."
Vivian Martinez also had an outstanding performance, securing first place in the 1500-meter race. Her time of 4:31.05 not only earned her the victory but also landed her in the sixth spot in program history for the event.
Neshara Smith also broke into the program's top 10 in the 100-meter hurdles with an impressive time of 13.98, marking the seventh-best performance in program history.
