TURLOCK, Calif. - The Broncos are in a commanding position at the end of Day 2 of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships, leading the field with 90 points—just half a point ahead of the nearest competitor and a full 29.5 points ahead of second place.
Neshara Smith delivered a standout performance in the heptathlon, setting a new meet record in the long jump with a mark of 5.55 meters. Her strong showing across all events earned her the heptathlon title with 4,792 points, ranking seventh all-time in program history and meeting the NCAA provisional qualifying standard. Teammate
Sarah Lindenthal also had a strong showing, placing third with 4,430 points.
In the field events,
Mi'ah Molette claimed first place in the shot put, earning a spot in the program's record books with the eighth-best throw in school history.
On the track,
Jessica James made her mark in the 200-meter dash prelims, clocking a personal best of 24.18 seconds—the sixth-fastest time ever recorded by a Bronco.
Galilea Jimenez also earned a podium finish, placing third in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
