SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona women's cross country team continued its fall campaign on Saturday morning at The Master's University Invitational, putting together a ninth-place finish on the 6,000-meter course at Central Park.

The Broncos were led by freshman Jubilee Cisneros, who crossed the line in 23:45.6 to finish 50th overall in a highly competitive field. Just 13 seconds later, Ava Holtzen came through in 59th place with a time of 23:58.5, giving Cal Poly Pomona a steady one-two finish at the front of its lineup.

CPP's middle scorers were nearly inseparable, as Julia Butler placed 69th in 24:17.9 and Emily Conde followed immediately behind in 71st at 24:18.7. The Broncos closed their scoring five with Victoria Escanuelas, who posted a 24:30.2 mark to claim 79th overall. The spread between the top five was just 45 seconds, as the team finished with 291 points.

Depth proved to be another strength for the Broncos. Jenna MacLennan turned in a 24:48.7 performance to place 98th, while Samantha Contreras clocked 25:20.6 and Emily Howard finished in 25:59.7.

All seven Broncos broke the 26-minute barrier, as the team averaged a time of 24:10.18, or 6:29 per mile. That mark was good enough for a ninth-place finish overall, and the third-fastest among Division II schools in the race.
