KENOSHA, Wis. — The Cal Poly Pomona women's cross country team turned in a strong performance on Saturday, finishing ninth overall with a score of 254 points at the Lucian Rosa Invitational. The race was held on the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course, the site of the 2025 National Championships taking place on November 24th.

Senior Vivian Martinez led the Broncos with an outstanding race, placing sixth individually in a time of 21:35.4, averaging 5:47 per mile. Her Top-10 finish provided a major boost to the Broncos' team score and highlighted her consistency as one of the region's elite runners.

Behind Martinez, the Broncos had a tight grouping to have all five scorers finish in the Top 75 of the race. Alondra Arias crossed the line in 54th (22:41.3), followed closely by Galilea Jimenez in 59th (22:45.5). Jade Kingston and Chloe Alchin finished back-to-back in 74th (22:57.6) and 75th (22:58.1), respectively, to close out the scoring five for CPP.

Milca Osorio contributed a solid effort with a 97th-place finish (23:20.0), while Shelby Ortega-Hufana placed 124th (23:54.5). Freshman Natalie Conde gained valuable experience on the national championship course, finishing 162nd (24:26.7).

The Broncos' top five combined for a team clock time of 1:52:58.1, securing the program's spot inside the Top 10 of the field.

"It was really important for both our teams not only to see the course we are working toward at the NCAA championships, but also to race against this field," said head coach Chris Bradford. "These are some of the top teams in Division II. We had some individuals in Vivian and Ricardo really represent us well. We have a lot of things to learn from this race, and will be ready for championship season next month."
