Alexis Woodson provided a spark off the bench with arguably her best performance of the season, scoring 12 points on efficient shooting and adding nine rebounds that fueled second-chance opportunities.
Hunter Hudson helped anchor the glass also recording nine rebounds, while contributing six points to the scoresheet.
After trailing 31-28 at halftime, the Broncos responded with a strong third quarter. A triple from
Andrea Stajic and a series of transition buckets allowed Cal Poly Pomona to reclaim the lead late in the period, heading into the fourth quarter up by one at 44-43. The Broncos continued to execute defensively, forcing turnovers and converting fast-break chances to stay in front down the stretch.
In the final minute, Cal Poly Pomona briefly regained the lead on a driving layup by Nelson with 13 seconds remaining. Humboldt answered with a deep two in the closing seconds, going up 57-56 to snap the Broncos win streak.
