4/12/2026 5:15:00 PM

LOS ANGELES – Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field competed at both the Pomona-Pitzer Invite in Claremont and the Rafer Johnson Invite at UCLA on Saturday. The team entered the record book five times while setting 23 personal records and earning three NCAA provisional qualifying marks.

At the Pomona-Pitzer Invite, the Broncos leaned on their depth, particularly in the distance events. Galilea Jimenez led a deep 1500-meter group with a seventh-place finish in 4:39.14, while Miranda Palacios and Lizeth DePaz added top-30 performances. All but one runner in the 1,500 meter group set a personal best. In the 5,000 meters, freshman Emily Conde placed fifth overall in 18:18.14, highlighting a productive day for the distance squad.

In the field, Halle McDaniels headlined the meet with a first-place finish and NCAA Division II qualifying mark in the discus (47.82m), the third-best mark in program history, while also placing fourth in the shot put. Isabelle Campos added a runner-up finish in the hammer throw at 47.37 meters. The jumps crew also impressed, with Ehinomen Eghobor taking third in the long jump (5.46m) and Shemi Brown-Dawson placing third in the triple jump (11.50m).

At the Rafer Johnson Invite, Cal Poly Pomona saw several standout performances against a strong field to finish third with a team score of 75. Jessica James recorded an NCAA Division II qualifying time of 24.06 in the 200 meters, while Yasmeen Delgado and Arissa Hatcher placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 400 meters.

The Broncos dominated the 4x400 relay, as Delgado, Hatcher, Jordan Garcia, and James combined for a first-place finish and NCAA Division II mark of 3:44.31, the fourth-fastest time in program history. In the hurdles, Lotta Metsarinta placed third in the 100 hurdles (15.15) and added a sixth-place finish in the 400 hurdles (1:07.04), while Keneyia Hall scored in both events as well. Bailie Horton placed seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 3.63 meters, the fifth best in program history.
