4/20/2026 3:25:00 PM

POMONA, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona turned in yet another strong weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays and the Bryan Clay Invitational, entering the record book nine times, reaching six NCAA provisional qualifying marks, and setting 16 personal records.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational, the Broncos were particularly sharp in the middle-distance and distance events. Arissa Hatcher delivered one of the top marks of the meet for CPP, clocking an NCAA Division II qualifying time of 2:07.07 to break her own school record in the 800 meters. In the steeplechase, Galilea Jimenez and Miranda Palacios both dipped under the NCAA DII standard, with Jimenez's time of 10:54.70 ranking fourth-best in school history.

The 4x100 relay squad posted a solid 46.70, ranking ninth all-time, while Bailie Horton led the field athletes with a 3.65m clearance in the pole vault to enter the CPP record book. The meet reflected continued progress across event groups, especially among underclassmen contributors in the jumps.

At the Mt. SAC Relays, Cal Poly Pomona elevated its performances against elite competition. Jessica James headlined the sprints with an NCAA DII mark of 53.88 in the 400 meters and added a 24.56 in the 200, the prior ranking third best in program history. The distance crew dominated the 5,000 meters with six Broncos finishing in the top 10, led by Jimenez and Palacios, while Jubilee Cisneros claimed the 10,000-meter title.

The 4x400 relay team secured an NCAA DII qualifying time of 3:39.56, marking the second-fastest time in school history. In the hurdles, Neshara Smith posted a standout 13.59 NCAA DII mark, adding to a productive weekend across multiple disciplines.
