INDIANAPOLIS - Cal Poly Pomona will be represented by three men's track and field athletes at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Emporia State University from May 21-23 in Emporia, Kansas.
Freshman
Harry Chen, sophomore
Collin Joyce, and junior
Ricardo Vargas each earned individual selections and will compete on the national stage against the top athletes in NCAA Division II.
Chen qualified in the men's high jump after clearing a season-best 2.09 meters. He is scheduled to compete on Friday, May 22 at 1:30 PM PT (3:30 PM local) marking his first appearance at the national championships in his debut collegiate season.
Joyce secured a return trip to nationals in the triple jump with a mark of 15.54 meters. The sophomore will take to the field on Saturday, May 23 at 12:15 PM PT (2:15 PM local), as he looks to repeat as an All-American in the event after placing fifth last season.
Vargas rounds out the Broncos' contingent in the men's 10,000-meter run. The junior posted a qualifying time of 29:34.73 and will open competition for Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday, May 21 at 6:10 PM PT (8:10 PM local).
The NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships represent the pinnacle of the collegiate season, bringing together the top qualifiers from across the country.
