Cal Poly Pomona closed the 2025 cross country season with an 18th-place team finish at the NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. The Broncos totaled 500 points over the 10,000-meter layout, placing 18th out of 34 teams.   Junior Ricardo Vargas led the way with a superb 21st-place finish in 30:23.6, securing USTFCCCA All-America honors with his Top 40 finish. The Cal Poly Pomona men's and women's cross country teams are headed to Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth, Oregon for the NCAA West Regionals this Saturday, November 8th. The women's 6K race will begin at 10:00 AM PST, followed by the men's 10K race at 11:15 AM PST. Following the second event, there will be a ceremony to recognize the top runners and teams in both races.   The top three teams from each race will receive automatic qualifiers into the NCAA Championships, taking place November 22nd at Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
