The Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team finished its 2006-07 season with an overall record of 20-8 and a 16-6 record against CCAA teams to place third in the conference. The Broncos qualified for the NCAA Tournament as the No. 3 seed of the West Region. The season ended on March 9, 2007 in the first round of the West Region Tournament in a 69-55 loss to Seattle University.

The CPP offense was led by senior guard Dion Cook and junior forward Larry Gordon. Cook averaged 17.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and nearly 2.5 assists per game while Gordon had 12.1 points, a team-high 7.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. This season also marked the debut of freshman forward Donnelle Booker, who led the team in blocks with 24. Junior forward Kevin Neveu had the second-highest total (15) in that category.

For his final year of eligibility, Cook made the most of it and played his way into the top 10 All-Time Bronco records in 11 categories. In a game against Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cook scored a career-high 39 points, which tied the second-highest point total for a CPP player in program history.

Cook also finished his final season tied for the third-most steals for a Broncos' career with 149.

Senior guard Billy Hofman ended his career fourth all-time in assists (321). In the Feb. 16, 2007 game against Cal State Stanislaus, Hofman set a CPP game record for 3-point field-goal percentage (1.000) when he made all seven of his attempts.
