In 2011 Cross Country: Raced well in his debut season as a Bronco, competing in four meets through 2011... Placed 40th overall at the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships and 82nd overall at the NCAA Division II West Region Championships.
At Mt. San Antonio College: Captain of the cross country squad... Earned the 2010 Coaches' Award... Finished 14th at the SoCal Championships with a time of 33:33.54 over 10,000 meters.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Colony High School... Served as the captain of the 2009 cross country team.
Personal: Son of Andres and Carmen Zavala... Kinesiology major with Exercise Science option... Enjoys hanging out with family and friends in his free time...
