Biography
In 2014 Track & Field: Served as the team's top 3,000-meter steeplechase competitor, posting a season-best mark of 9:31.44 on April 5 at UC San Diego... Posted his best 1,500-meter time at Cal State L.A. in March, crossing the line in 4:02.71.
In 2013 Cross Country: Made his NCAA Division II National Championships debut, helping the Broncos capture an eighth-place finish for the program's top performance since 1997... Finished 18th at the CCAA Championships, guiding CPP to a second-place finish at that meet... At that conference event, he posted a time of 25:38.0.
In 2013 Track & Field: Continued as a distance standout on the track and field squad, ranking third on the Broncos in the 1,500-, 3,000- and 5,000-meter events... Finished with the team's top 3,000-meter steeplechase mark at 9:32.39... Named to the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Academic Team for the second-straight year after holding a grade point average above 3.40 through 2012-13.
In 2012 Cross Country: Earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Academic honors for his excellent work in the classroom... Proved to be the third-best Bronco finisher at the NCAA West Region Championships as he crossed the line in 34:16.7 across the 10,000 meters... Posted his top 8,000-meter time of the season at the Pomona Pitzer Invite, placing 13th overall at 25:50.0.
In 2012 Track & Field: Competed in three different events during the 2012 spring season: 1,500-meter, 3,000-meter and 3,000-meter steeplechase... Ranked second on the team for the 1,500-meter event as he raced to a 4:08.94 time at Cal State Fullerton on March 10... Earned a spot on the CCAA All-Academic Team after maintaining a grade point average above 3.40 through the 2011-12 academic year.
In 2011 Cross Country: Turned in a solid freshman season, competing in six races... Earned CCAA Freshman of the Year honors after coming across the line at the conference championships less than one second faster than Humboldt State freshman Brent Ritschel... Took 27th overall at that event in Santa Rosa with a 27:16.7 mark... Turned in his top 8,000-meter mark at UC Riverside in the season-opening meet with a time of 25:49.7.
High School: A 2011 graduate of Sherman E. Burroughs High School... Captain of the cross country and track and field teams as a senior... Earned All-League and CIF qualification honors during the 2009 and 2010 cross country seasons... Named the track and field squad's Most Valuable Distance Runner during the 2010 and 2011 campaigns... Received Honor Roll mention all four years for his success in the classroom... Selected as the Desert Sky League's Student-Athlete of the Year... Placed 14th in the Mt. SAC Division III Sweepstakes race with a time of 15:36.
