Trevor Persson enters his first season in 2011 as top assistant alongside head coach Lance Thompson. This is Persson's third season overall as a coach for the Broncos, after serving as program associate in 2009 and 2010.

Persson currently coaches two club teams with CZ Elite in Pasadena, a Boys U17 and a Girls U12. The boys team is nationally ranked after winning the inaugural SCDSL Tier 1 division, Celtic Cup, Albion College Showcase and making appearances in the Surf Cup and Dallas Cup. Persson also holds a National “C” coaching license.

Prior to coaching with the Broncos, Persson served as the girls’ varsity soccer coach at Pasadena High School from 2010-11. There, he led the program to its first California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) postseason appearance in five years.

After playing four years for the Broncos between 1996 and 2000 while receiving NCAA D-II All-American honors, Persson started his professional soccer career with the San Diego Flash before moving on to the Utah Blitzz. With steady development, Persson later trained, traveled and played as a Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA reserve from 2005 to 2007.

Persson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies at Cal Poly Pomona and a Master’s degree in Education from La Verne. He lives in Pasadena with his wife Rocio Real, who is also a Cal Poly Pomona alum and played soccer for the Broncos.
