2009: Played No. 1 singles for the third straight year.. Owned a 6-11 overall record, going 6-10 at No. 1... Played doubles in all 18 matches... Went 7-5 with Jackie Vachirajongkol at No.2... Earned a 3-3 record with James Lee (2-2 at No. 3) and played twice with Salvador Romero at No. 1, going 1-1... Earned his second straight Division II Athletic Directors Association (DII ADA) Academic Achievement Award, presented by WeatherPORT.
2008: Featured as the No. 1 singles player for the second consecutive season… Posted a 9-6 mark in singles… Also played in each of the 15 matches in doubles… Earned a 5-5 record with Salvador Romero at No. 1… Went 2-0 with Jackie Vachirajongkol at No. 2… Went 2-1 with Jeffrey Vachirajongkol at No. 2… An excellent student who was one of 17 Cal Poly Pomona student-athletes honored by the Division II Athletic Directors Association (DII ADA) as its inaugural recipients of the DII ADA Academic Achievement Awards, presented by WeatherPORT.
2007: Played No. 1 singles for the Broncos… Went 8-8 and was team’s only member to post non-losing record in singles… Played No. 1 doubles with Mike Palacio and posted a 5-11 overall mark.
At Ayala HS: Individual Sierra League singles champion… Led the team to an undefeated league championship… Team MVP and team captain in 2006… Sierra League singles finalist, the team MVP and the team captain as a junior in 2005… Sierra League finalist, doubles champion, Sportsmanship Award winner and a co-captain as a sophomore in 2004… Sierra League champion and earned the Coach’s Award as a freshman in 2003.
Personal: Son of Ben and Doris Lau… Kinesiology major… Enjoys working out, cars, video games, watching television, surfing the Internet and hanging out with friends… Says becoming Ayala’s first male to go undefeated is his most exciting experience in sports.
