Sara Macey is in her seventh year as an assistant coach for the Cal Poly Pomona track and field team in 2023.
Prior to arriving at CPP, she spent three years at Cerritos Community College as a volunteer assistant coach focusing on the women's multi-event athletes and running summer workouts to prepare athletes for the upcoming seasons.
As a student-athlete at Long Beach State, Macey was a two-time NCAA Division I Regional Qualifier for the high jump and in 2012, was the Big West Heptathlon runner-up. She served four years on the CSULB Student Athlete-Advisory Committee, was named a team caption and received scholar-athlete accolades as a freshman.
Macey graduated from CSULB with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Human Development and has also earned a USA Track and Field Level 1 coaching certification. She is currently finishing her Master's in Education from Grand Canyon University.
