Biography


As a Junior in 2011: Competed in the 200- and 400-meter events, recording season bests of 23.35 and 51.29 respectively.

As a Sophomore in 2010: Competed well in the 400-meter event, finishing with CPP's fourth-best time of the season at 50.33, which he recorded Feb. 20 at UC San Diego.

As a Freshman in 2009: Solid performer as a freshman… Placed sixth in the CCAA 400 (51.93)… One of nine Broncos to break 52 seconds in the 400 (season-best 50.79)… Ran season-best 800 (1:59.90) at Cal-Nevada Championships… Ran season-best 200 (23.38) at UC San Diego dual.

High School: A 2007 graduate of A.B. Miller High School... A two-time (sophomore and junior) Citrus Belt League champion in the 800 and 4x400 meter relay… Team captain for the Rebels… Personal bests include: 1:59 (800) and 50.01 split in the 4 x 400 relay.

Personal: Son of Jesus and Ruth Santoyo… Has three siblings named Noely, Joab Kenneth and Jose Angel... Electrical Engineering major... Aspires to become a successful engineer and inventor... Also hopes to make it to the professional circuit of track and field... Enjoys reading, video games, soccer and hanging out with friends and family in his free time... Favorite pro teams are FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal FC, Los Angeles Lakers, Mexico National Soccer Team, Chivas de Guadalajara and the Los Angeles Galaxy... Favorite athlete is Rafael Marquez.
