In 2010 Cross Country: Turned in a solid campaign during the fall of 2010, helping CPP to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division II West Regional, with the team narrowly missing a spot at nationals... Finished 12th overall at the CCAA Championships in Whittier, Calif., with an 8,000-meter time of 25:21.1
In 2010 Track & Field: Finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase event at the CCAA Championships held at UC San Diego in early May... Recorded the Broncos' top 1,500-meter mark of the season at the Azusa Pacific Invitational in mid-April.
In 2009 Cross Country: Competed in six events... Placed 26th at CCAA meet (26:48.7 over 8,000 m)... Placed 13th at Triton Invite (33:51.4 over 10K)... Finished 39th at NCAA West Regional (33:12.5 over 10K).
At San Bernardino Valley College: Ran cross country and track… Member of the Wolverines’ state championship XC teams in 2007 and 2008… Owns personal bests of 9:33 in the 3,000 steeplechase… Owns best time of 26:05 in 8,000 meters (XC).
High School: A 2006 graduate of Redlands East Valley High School, where he was a standout in both cross country and track for the Wildcats.
Personal: Son of Jose and Blanca Marquez… Has two younger siblings named Juan and Nestor... Political Science major and Teaching English as a Second Language minor… Emigrated from Mexico when he was 14... Enjoys spending time with his family...
