2009: Represented the Broncos in the decathlon at the NCAA Championships in San Angelo, Texas…Finished the event 9th with personal-best 6,582… Ranks fifth on the CPP all-time chart. … Entered final day in 10th place and improved one spot on the strength of 15.72 showing in the 110 hurdles and surpassing 14 feet in the pole vault at 14-1 ¼… Earned All-CCAA status with runner-up finish in the decathlon (6,515)… Also placed sixth in the CCAA 110 hurdles (15.94)… Season-bests include: 100 (11.13), 400 (51.96), 1500 (5:00.85), 110 hurdles (15.67), high jump (6-2 ¾), long jump (21-11), shot put (35-0), discus (112-0), javelin (169-2) and pole vault (15-1).
2008: Finished seventh in the high jump (6-4) and fifth in the decathlon (6,037 points) at the CCAA Championships… Ran 23.64 200 at APU… Ran season-best 15.75 in the 110 hurdles at UCI… Earned top mark of 14-1 ¼ in the pole vault at UCSD… Heaved the shot put 34 feet at CSULA… Also owned top marks of 107-4 in the discus and 156-4 in the javelin.
2007: Owned a team-best 15.6 in the 110 hurdles… High jumped 6-6… Went 20-3 ¾ in the long jump… Threw the javelin a season-best 145-6… Competed in the decathlon at Azusa Pacific and earned 5,889 points.
At Valley View HS: Competed in football and track and field… Track and field team’s MVP and holds school’s high-jump record of 6-7… Established school’s longest interception return record.
Personal: Son of Richard and Patricia Hernandez… Kinesiology major… Enjoys snowboarding, paintball and water sports… Winning Male Athlete of the Meet award in the AAU Indoor Championships in track and field as his most exciting experience in sports.
