Biography
As a Junior in 2013: Had strong performances in both the long jump and triple jump… Posted the team’s second-best mark of 45-5 in the triple jump on May 5 at Cal State Stanislaus.
As a Sophomore in 2012: Recorded the team's top long jump mark of 2012 with a 21-10 distance on April 20 at APU… Finished with the team's second-best 2012 mark in the triple jump, posting a 44-7 mark at the Tiny Lister Classic... Also competed in 100-meter, 200-meter, 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay and distance medley.
As a Freshman in 2011: Turned in an impressive debut season for the Broncos, recording the top long jump and triple jump marks on the team... Posted a long jump distance of 21-4.25 on May 6 at the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships... On that same day, registered a personal best in the triple jump at 43-7.25.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Damien High School... Competed in the long jump and triple jump... Helped team to a Sierra League championship... Earned the Coaches' Award... Graduated with a 3.2 grade-point average and received selection to the honor roll.
Personal: Son of Fernando and Linda Santiago... Kinesiology major... Favorite pro team is the Los Angeles Lakers and favorite athlete is Kobe Bryant... Enjoys listening to music, watching movies, bowling and hanging out with friends and family in his free time... Aspires to become a physical therapist.
