Kevin Adams begins his sixth season at Cal Poly Pomona in 2016-17. He returns to the Broncos' coaching staff after a one-year coaching stint with San Diego State at the Division I level. After serving as assistant coach under Danelle Bishop for four years, Adams was promoted to the associate head coach position at CPP before the 2014-15 season.

With the help of Adams' coaching, the Broncos reached the postseason for five-straight seasons starting in the 2010-11 season, including an Elite Eight appearance in 2011 and a Final Four appearance in 2014.

At the NCAA D-II Women's Basketball Elite Eight in Erie, Pa., All-American Jada Blackwell earned a spot on the All-Tournament team after guiding CPP to its first Elite Eight win since 2002. Head coach Danelle Bishop was also named the CCAA Coach of the Year and also a finalist for Division II Coach of the Year at the national level. In May 2014, Adams was featured in The Poly Post student newspaper.

In Adams' second year at CPP in 2011-12, the Broncos posted marks of 19-9 overall and 15-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). CPP started and finished the regular season strong, going 8-0 out of the gates and closing the schedule out on a four-game winning streak.

Adams played an immense role in CPP's magical 2010-11 season, helping the Broncos put together a 28-5 overall record while capturing CCAA and West Region titles along the way. Although CPP's magical run came to an end in the Elite Eight on March 22, the Broncos advancing to that stage marked the best finish since 2002.

Adams spent the 2009-10 campaign as an assistant coach at Cal Baptist, under the direction of Bishop. He spent a total of four seasons assisting within the Lancers' program and earned a full-time position in Fall 2009.

A Yucaipa native, Adams graduated from CBU in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology.

While at Yucaipa High School, Adams was a three-year letter winner for the Thunderbirds. He came back to his alma mater while at CBU to assist the boys' basketball program.

Adams, his wife Nicole and their two children Kennedy and Josiah reside in Riverside.
