In 2012 Cross Country: Proved to be a steady contributor for the Broncos in 2012 as he participated in six meets, including the conference and regional postseason races... Set a season-best mark in the 6,000-meter distance with a 23:11.0 time at the UC Riverside Invite... Featured on the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Academic Team after maintaining a grade point average above 3.40.
In 2012 Track and Field: Competed in three events for the Broncos and she ranked second on the team for the 3,000-meter distance, racing to a 10:42.37 time at Claremont Mudd Scripps in late February.
In 2011 Cross Country: Put together a solid debut season for the Broncos in 2011, competing in five races... Raced her top time at the CCAA Championships in Santa Rosa, finishing the 6,000-meter course in 22:37.8 to place 30th overall... Finished 83rd at the West Region Championships.
At Orange Coast College: At the Orange Empire Championships in which OCC won its 15th-straight conference title, she posted a 5,000-meter time of 21:11.4 to place 28th overall... Received the Most Inspirational Coaches' Award.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Newport Harbor High School... Earned Honor Roll recognition for her work in the classroom.
Personal: Daughter of Joe McCarthy and Suzanne Gignoux... Has a younger brother named Clarence... Biology major and Education minor... Enjoys listening to music, hiking, snowboarding, biking, swimming, reading and hanging out with friends in her free time... Favorite pro team is the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and favorite pro athlete is Taj Burrow... Aspires to become a biology professor.
