In 2011 Track & Field: Competed in the 800- and 1,500-meter events, registering top times of 2:28.37 and 4:57.51... Both marks came on April 9 at Pomona Pitzer.
In 2010 Cross Country: Raced in four invitationals as a freshman, including a 24:07.2 mark at the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships in Whittier, Calif... Her top 6,000-meter time, 23:21.8, came a week earlier at the Bronco Preview Meet.
High School: A 2010 graduate of West Covina High School... Set program records for fastest mile (5:12) and three-mile marks (18:23)... Named West Covina's Female Athlete of the Year in 2010... Selected as a three-time MVP... Graduated with honors and took six advanced placement classes.
Personal: Daughter of Martin and Ileana Mendez... Has two younger sisters named Rebecca and Brianna... Uncle Samuel Rivas played soccer professionally for Chivas and cousin Eric Rivas competed in collegiate soccer for St. Mary's... Civil Engineering major...
