Mike Senyo enters his fifth year as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Cal Poly Pomona in 2026-27, after being hired on November 1, 2022.
In his role at CPP, Senyo oversees the development and implementation of comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for Cal Poly Pomona's student-athletes. He works closely with coaches, athletic trainers, and sports medicine staff to enhance athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and support the overall physical development of Bronco student-athletes. Senyo designs sport-specific training plans, monitors athlete progress, and provides education on strength training, recovery, and performance optimization. His leadership plays a vital role in preparing Broncos to compete at a high level while promoting long-term health, wellness, and success both in competition and in the classroom.
Since joining the Broncos, Senyo has contributed to the success of one national championship team, 12 CCAA championship teams, and the development of numerous All-Americans. During his tenure, four student-athletes have earned NSCA All-America honors for their achievements in the weight room.
Before joining Cal Poly Pomona, Senyo spent 10 years as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, most recently at the University of La Verne, where he oversaw baseball, basketball, track and field, and several other programs. Prior to La Verne, he served as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Whittier College, where he built two programs from the ground up and managed training for 22 teams.
Senyo also started the strength program at Claremont McKenna College and spent two seasons training 14 athletics teams and designed the athletics weight room in the Roberts Pavilion.
Senyo began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of La Verne. Senyo started coaching in 2011 at John Marshall High School as Co-Defensive Coordinator, coaching linebackers and the defensive line. He was a four-year football player at the University of La Verne where he received his bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Design. He is C.S.C.S, FMS, USAW and First Aid certified.
Senyo resides in Pomona with his wife, Trisha, and son, Nikolai.
