Biography
As a Senior in 2012: As a newcomer to the Broncos’ 2012 roster, Gerardo entered the top 10 best list in six different events… Registered a personal best of 27.56 in the 200-meter and raced to a time of 61.26 in the 400-meter… In the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles, placed second with times 15.13 and 65.83… As a member of the 4x400-meter relay, placed fourth on the all-time list with a time of 3:50.22… Also as a member of the Broncos’ 4x100 relay team, placed ninth all-time with a time of 48.26 at Cal State L.A.
At Cerritos College: Helped Falcons place fourth at the state championships... Took third individually in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.37) and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.10)... Also part of the team's top 4x400 relay team that posted a time of 3:54.11 at the state meet... Earned the team's Outstanding Runner Award.
At East L.A. College: Redshirted during the 2010 season... Placed fifth in the 2009 State Championships in the heptathlon with a career-high 4275 points after coming in second place in the Southern California Championships… Also came in fourth place in the Southern California Championships in the 100-meter hurdles, while she competed in the 200 meters… Won the South Coast Conference championship in the 100-meter hurdles, and placed second in the 200 meters and third in the 400 meters… Posted personal bests in the 200 meters (25.70), 400 meters (58.39), 800 meters (2:28.74), 100-meter hurdles (14.69), 400-meter hurdles (1:10.77), long jump (15’ 9”), javelin (90’ 5), high jump (1.46 meters) and shot put (9.41 meters).
High School: A 2008 graduate of Alhambra High School... Qualified for the CIF Prelims in the 100-meter hurdles (14.69) and 300-meter hurdles four years in a row… Won the league championship in the 100-meter hurdles as a senior despite being injured… Also ran the 200 meters (25.27)… Team voted her their Most Inspirational Player as a senior after being voted their Most Valuable Player as a junior and sophomore… Named the Most Improved Athlete as a freshman… Spent four seasons on the track and field and basketball teams… Named the Most Inspirational Player on the basketball team as a senior.
Personal: Daughter of Ed Gerardo and Leticia Ramirez... Has three siblings named Amber, Erin and Ryan... Kinesiology major… Her cousin Cesar played basketball at Cal State Maritime, while another cousin, Jeremy, played basketball at the University of Utah… Enjoys movies, dancing, going to the beach and hanging out with family and friends in her free time... Favorite athlete is Lolo Jones... Favorite sports team is the Los Angeles Lakers…Aspires to pursue a career as a physical therapist.
