In 2011 Cross Country: Competed in four races for the Broncos' cross country team in 2011... Her best time came in the season-opening meet, crossing the 6,000-meter line in 23:56.1 at UC Riverside... Also raced in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships in Santa Rosa, posting a time of 24:25.1
In 2011 Track & Field: Competed in the 800- and 1,500-meter events, recording the fifth-best marks in each of those races for the team in 2011... Both of those performances came on April 9 at Pomona Pitzer, as she finished with respective times of 2:28.37 and 4:57.51.
High School: A 2010 graduate of West Covina High School... Set program records for fastest mile (5:12) and three-mile marks (18:23)... Named West Covina's Female Athlete of the Year in 2010... Selected as a three-time MVP... Graduated with honors and took six advanced placement classes.
Personal: Daughter of Martin and Ileana Mendez... Has two younger sisters named Rebecca and Brianna... Uncle Samuel Rivas played soccer professionally for Chivas and cousin Eric Rivas competed in collegiate soccer for St. Mary's... Civil Engineering major...
