Biography

In 2010 Cross Country: Served as captain of the CPP women's cross country team that advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championships for just the second time in program history... At the national race in Louisville, Ky., she finished 149th with a mark of 24:31.0... Turned in her top time of the season at the CCAA Championships in Whittier, Calif., crossing the line in 22:40.0 to take 16th place.

In 2010 Track & Field: Registered squad's third-best 5,000-meter time of 19:21.63 on March 6 in Turlock, Calif... Also posted a 10,000-meter mark of 40:58.71 on March 28 at UCLA.

In 2009 Cross Country: Competed in all six events… Placed 25th at CCAA Championships at Humboldt State (24:04.7)… Ran season-best 6,000 at Stanford (23:11.0)…Placed 26th at Triton Invitational (23:43).

In 2009 Track & Field:
Ran team-best 10,000 meters at Ben Brown Invitational (40:06.87)… Ran 19:56.97 in the 5000 at CCAA Championships… Ran 1,500 in season opener in UC San Diego (5:24.05).

In 2008 Cross Country: Competed in seven events… Finished 32nd at the CCAA meet… Finished 76th at the NCAA Regional in La Jolla.

In 2008 Track & Field: Competed in the four distance events… Season-bests include – 1,500 (5:16.55), 3,000 (11:44.69), 5,000 (19:42.96) and 10,000 (41:56.49).

In
2007 Cross Country:
Competed in seven events… Finished 46th at the CCAA meet (23:37.3 over 6,000 meters)… Finished 95th at the NCAA West Regional in Boise, Idaho (23:23.0 over 6,000 meters).

High School:
A 2007 graduate of Valencia High School, where she was a four-time Most Valuable Runner in cross country… Earned all-Empire League honors her senior year… Personal best 19:43 over three miles… Personal best times include: mile (5:37), 800 (2:37) and 3200 (12:27)… An academic honors student.

Personal:
Daughter of Ed Garcia and Christina Fleetham… Father graduated from Cal Poly Pomona and competed in cross country... Has three younger siblings named Alexis, Taylor and Jacob... Physics major and has been published in the field, with her "The Impact of the History of Physics on Student Attitude and Conceptual Understanding of Physics"… Enjoys reading, going to the beach, playing video games, watching television and hanging out with friends in her free time... Favorite athlete is Steve Prefontaine.
