Jimmy Lo

Jimmy Lo enters his fifth year as an assistant coach for the Cal Poly Pomona volleyball program in 2025.

During his four seasons at CPP, the Broncos own a 94-23 (.803) overall record, while going 59-13 (.819) in CCAA games. The Broncos have also made four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, while winning their first CCAA Tournament title in 2022.

The Broncos experienced their most successful season in program history in 2024, going 25-4 while winning their first outright CCAA regular season title. They set a program record with 17 CCAA wins in the regular season, had the second-longest winning streak in program history at 18 consecutive matches, and had the longest stretch of 3-0 sweeps across eight straight matches. The 2024 squad reached as high as No. 3 in the national rankings, marking the highest in program history. The team concluded its season hosting the NCAA West Regionals at the No. 1 seed, the first time they have hosted under the current playoff format.

Prior to joining the Broncos staff, Lo was the volunteer assistant at UCLA for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. While at UCLA, he helped with scouting and game planning against opponents and practice planning. On the court, Lo spent time training the UCLA middle blockers and assisting in player development. He helped UCLA make the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament and coached the Pac 12 Player of the Year and two All Americans in 2019.

Lo spent the 2017 season as a volunteer assistant at Pepperdine after serving as an assistant coach at Cal State LA for three seasons (2014-16). He helped the Golden Eagles reach the AVCA Top 25 for the first time since 2010, coaching three All-Americans and four All-CCAA players. With CSULA, Lo was in charge of scouting opponents, recruiting, and preparing the block and defense.

On the club side, Lo has also spent time working at SG Elite Volleyball Club. As a senior coach and administrator, he has head coached two Roshambo teams that have qualified in the Open division. He also assisted on several Roshambo teams, including an 18 Roshambo team that won the first Bronze Medal in the 18 Open Division at the club. His duties at the club include handling travel and scheduling logistics, tournament registrations, and roster management.

Lo graduated with his bachelor’s degree in 2014 from UC Santa Barbara, where he was a member of the men’s varsity club team. He also earned his master’s degree from Long Beach State in 2016.
