Travis Taijeron continued to strengthen his case as the conference’s top offensive player. Already leading the CCAA in homeruns and slugging percentage, the senior outfielder took over the No. 1 spot in on-base percentage after posting an .842 mark in that statistic this past week at Cal State Monterey Bay. The Broncos scored 37 runs in the four-game series and Taijeron tallied eight of them. He went 10-for-13 at the plate, while also adding five walks and a stolen base. Defensively, Taijeron has yet to commit an error this season and he continued that streak in Seaside. His homerun in the series opener Thursday pushed his career total to 28, putting him in a tie for second on the all-time CPP leaderboard.
