Ryan Carrell put together a strong performance in his first race of 2012 on Saturday at the UC Riverside Invite. The junior from Westminster, Calif., placed seventh overall in the field of 163 with a time of 24:35.1. That marks almost matches his career best of 24:28.3. Carrell's time on Saturday ranks sixth in the Broncos' all-time record books for 8,000 meters.

Carrell and the Broncos will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Pomona Pitzer Invitational. It'll be a "Pack the Course" event with the race set to begin at 7:45 a.m.
