Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

Samantha Swanson, a Cal Poly Pomona junior from Nevada, put together a pair of terrific throwing performances Saturday in Northridge. She finished second out of 22 competitors in the discus, posting a "B" provisional qualifying mark of 144-7 that ranks at No. 5 in the school's record book. It's also the best CPP mark since 2002.
