The Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team exhibited plenty of top-notch speed Saturday during day two at the Cal-Nevada Championships as the Broncos took fifth in the 200-meter dash and seventh in the 4x100 relay.

Both performances made a bit of history in CPP's all-time record book. Senior Angela Garcia ran the 200-meter dash in 24.61, earning her first "B" provisional qualifying mark while ranking fifth all-time for the Broncos. For that event, it stands as CPP's top time since 1997 and it also moves Garcia into the No. 1 spot on the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) leaderboard this season.

Earlier in the day, Garcia also helped the Broncos' 4x100 run a blistering time of 47.45. Along with Garcia, the other three key contributors included Ariel Whitney, Heather Corder and Brooke Gamble. That group's Saturday time stands as the fourth-best in school history and also the top mark since 1997. It also puts the Broncos in the No. 1 ranking among CCAA 4x100 relays so far in 2013.
