Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

Competing against the area's best Sunday during day two of the Steve Scott Invitational at UC Irvine, the Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team put together a stellar showing to finish the regular season on a high note.

Sophomore Lizette Huerta recorded her second provisional qualifying mark of the season, taking second place in the 800-meter race Sunday with a career-best time of 2:13.45. That mark ranks sixth on the conference leaderboard. Ten days ago, Huerta notched a provisional in the 1,500-meter race at the Mt. SAC Relays.
