Reyana Colson, a senior from Compton, Calif., led the Cal Poly Pomona women’s basketball team to more victories last week, as the Broncos stretched their winning streak to seven games. Colson poured in 22 points and added seven assists during Tuesday’s home win over Cal State San Bernardino, a result that pushed CPP into sole possession of second place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Although she missed Thursday’s road game at Cal State East Bay because of injury, Colson bounced back with another superb performance Saturday during a win at UC San Diego. There, Colson outplayed her matchup counterpart, the Tritons’ Chelsea Carlisle, to keep hold of the conference’s scoring lead (20.9 points per game). On Saturday, Colson tallied 25 points with the help of a 10-for-13 showing at the free-throw line.
