Jordan Whitman of the Cal Poly Pomona baseball team capped off his collegiate career with NCAA All-West Region selection as the Daktronics and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) honors were announced Thursday afternoon.

Whitman, a senior from Cypress, Calif.,finished his Bronco career with eight shutout innings on Senior Day - May 5 - in his first pitching performance since his freshman season in 2010. Through his time at CPP, he played in 151 games and totaled 185 hits. Whitman's career RBI total of 115 ranks eighth in the Broncos' all-time record book.

Defensively, Whitman developed into one of the top outfielders in the league and this past year he tallied a fielding percentage of .991 with three assists. As a senior, he ranked fifth in the CCAA in runs batted in with 40. This marks Whitman's first-career All-West Region accolade as he received All-CCAA First Team recognition earlier this month.
