If Saturday's opener at UC Riverside is any indication, 2013 should be a fun season for Cal Poly Pomona men's cross country. Twin brothers Ryan Carrell and John Carrell placed within the top 15 individually out of 196 competitors, leading the Broncos to a fourth-place team finish as the top Division II squad.

Across the 8,000-meter UCR Agricultural Operations Course, Ryan posted a seventh-place 24:38.7 mark to finish less than a minute behind the race's winner - Central Arizona's Harry Mulenga. It's the first cross country race for Ryan since he appeared at the 2012 NCAA Division II National Championships.
