With the CPP community getting loud Saturday on the course at the Pomona Pitzer Invite, brothers John Carrell and Ryan Carrell turned in impressive performances as they led the Broncos to first place at the fifth annual Pomona Pitzer Invite. The program's previous top finish was third place, which was achieved last year.

The Carrell brothers had plenty of support from their teammates as the team's top five runners all placed within the top 20 individually. As a team, the Broncos scored 36 points to well outpace second-place Pomona Pitzer.

At the season-opening meet in Riverside last month, Ryan crossed the line nine seconds before John. This Saturday, John took his turn as the leader of the pack. John raced to a time of 25:10.6, passing Cal State San Marcos' Steven Ing in the finishing sprint. Ryan followed in third, crossing the line in 25:16.4.
