With senior John Carrell leading the way Saturday, a total of four Broncos placed within the top 25 at the NCAA Division II West Region Championships Saturday and the team placed third overall to earn a spot at nationals in two weeks.

It'll mark the program's 16th all-time appearance at the D-II National Championships. The 2006 squad was the last to reach that level of the postseason and the 1983 team captured the NCAA D-II national title.

Entering Saturday's race, the Broncos held the No. 4 spot in latest West Region poll. CPP came ready to race and John Carrell was at the front of the pack, racing to a 32:04.3 mark to finish eighth.
