Carissa English, a junior transfer from Cerritos College, recorded a "B" provisional qualifier in the hammer throw Saturday at the Rossi Relays in Claremont. She tallied a distance of 164-8 to move into second all-time for that event in school history. Saturday marked her first official meet as a Bronco and she finished third for the hammer, trailing just two student-athletes from Division I USC. English is a Huntington Beach native who graduated from Marina High School.

English and the Broncos will return to action Saturday with the Pomona Preview Meet held at Mt. San Antonio College.
