With the team’s strong postseason performance advancing them further along the road, Jada Blackwell has been a driving force on the Broncos’ offense.
Friday saw the CPP squad defeat California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) rival, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros, 61-57. Blackwell was one of four Broncos to post double-digit points in the contest, securing 11 on a 5-for-13 showing. She also tallied three assists, and was the only member wearing Green and Gold to record a block and a steal. Under the basket, she pulled down nine rebounds, eight of the defensive nature.
Saturday, with a late offensive swell for CPP, the Broncos earned a 16-point 90-74 victory over regional competitor, the Seattle Pacific Falcons. In that matchup, the senior from Rancho Cucamonga set a career single-game personal record with 10 assists, nine of which came in the first half alone. She also added 21 points, while committing just a single turnover and providing two blocks. She sank her shot both times that she was sent to the free throw line.
